Would love to agree with the PR Arsenal put out with their financial management, however evidence proves they have wasted a lot of money, please have a look at http://lordhillwood.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/the-f-word.html showing how AFC's board took their eye off commercial revenue 12 years ago and lost 230 million pounds.Giving Man utd a free rein on that.

The stadium was impeccably financed, however the current non competitive situation is of their own doing, 370 million not got and wasted - self sufficiency is of their doing, they restricted income+transfer budget by not managing the manager+Wages+not investing in team to reap in commercial revenue 12 years ago :)Steve Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09908604927260163747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-976892427395189402.post-10991034790954658972012-12-28T22:22:13.965+00:002012-12-28T22:22:13.965+00:00Good analysis, but it should be noted that Arsenal...Good analysis, but it should be noted that Arsenal's approach to financial management has been impeccable. Arsenal is consistently ranked among the top 5 most valuable football properties in the world, despite not having the success on the pitch as clubs it out values; like Chelsea, Inter, Milan, Bayern and Juventus. The club has been prudent, and its commercial deals were consistent with the term structure of the financing of the stadium. In the next couple of years, you will begin see Arsenal's commercial revenue start to be around 80 to 85% of what Manchester United earns. I do agree the our wage structure was a mistake, and its a model that don't work in competitive sports. But, I think the club has gotten most things right, and we start to see the club start to make the marquee signings that the club of this stature demands.
